Is Direct Primary Care the same as concierge medicine?
Not quite. Both replace the rushed insurance model with direct access to physicians, but they're structured differently.
Concierge practices typically charge a high annual retainer (often thousands of dollars) on top of billing your insurance, and patient panels can still be large.
Direct Primary Care is simpler and more transparent: one flat monthly membership, no insurance billing for primary care, and a deliberately small patient panel. At Thrive Family Health, your visits are with me, the same physician who knows you and your history.

Do I Still Need Insurance?
DPC is not insurance and does not replace it for major medical needs such as hospitalizations, surgeries, or specialist care. Many members pair their membership with a high-deductible insurance plan, which carries a lower monthly premium. Depending on your plan, the combination may lower your overall costs while giving you more time with your physician
