About

Dr. Kelly Boyatt

Listening first

Great care starts with truly hearing you—not just your symptoms, but your story, your priorities, and what matters most in your life.

Whole-person care

Your physical, emotional, and personal well-being are deeply connected. I take the time to see the whole picture so your care is as individualized as you are.

Partner in Your Health

My role is to guide and educate, not dictate. We weigh the options together and build a plan that fits your life, not the other way around.

Excellence & Integrity

Every recommendation is grounded in the best available evidence and guided by honesty, transparency, and respect for your goals.

Meet Dr. Kelly Boyatt, MD

I grew up in Loma Linda, California, surrounded by medicine from an early age. My mother, a family physician, shaped the way I see care, not just as a profession, but as a calling. She taught me the importance of truly knowing your patients and never losing sight of a comprehensive whole-person approach.

My grandfather was one of the first family physicians in Victorville, and his legacy, along with my mother's, has always pointed me back to the roots of this field: a time when care was personal, relationships mattered, and patients were truly valued. That vision is what ultimately led me to Direct Primary Care, a model that allows me to slow down, be present, and care for patients the way I always intended.

I attended Westmont College in Santa Barbara, where I deepened my faith. I was honored to be accepted to Loma Linda University School of Medicine, where the founding tenets of my care took shape: evidence-based medicine,

grounded in a whole-person philosophy. I also met my husband during this time. I completed my residency at Long Beach Memorial, refining my clinical skills while caring for underserved communities.

At home, life is full and a little chaotic in the best way. My husband, a teacher, keeps me grounded, and our four children have refined my patience and taught me creativity, flexibility, and perseverance in ways no textbook ever could.

I'm also a lifelong animal lover. Our home includes Roxy, our beloved puppy dog, Chico, our cockatiel, Slithers the snake, and two guinea pigs, Pepper and Peaches. Caring for animals has deepened my appreciation for attentiveness, intuition, and the quiet ways connection builds trust, something I carry with me in how I care for my patients.

Why Thrive?

I chose the name Thrive because it reflects a belief that's at the heart of how I practice medicine. Just as a garden flourishes with the right environment, attention, and care, I believe people do too. My hope is to create a practice where patients feel known, supported, and empowered to grow, heal, and truly thrive through every season of life.

Why I Chose Direct Primary Care

The current healthcare structure had become increasingly unsustainable—not only in my ability to practice the kind of medicine my patients deserved, but also in their experience of care. Many patients struggled to reach me when they needed help. Phone calls were often routed through multiple systems, messages were delayed, and getting a timely appointment, especially when something felt urgent was increasingly difficult.

When patients couldn't reach me, they often had no choice but to seek care elsewhere from clinicians who did not know their history or the bigger picture.

Visits were also increasingly rushed. I found myself frequently running behind, with limited time to fully explore concerns, ask deeper questions, or step back and consider the whole person. Over time, I wasn’t able to consistently provide the level of attention and thoughtfulness my patients deserved.

It became clear that this model was no longer sustainable, for my patients or for the kind of physician I wanted to be. I knew something needed to change, but I wasn’t ready to step away from practicing medicine.

As I explored alternatives, Direct Primary Care stood out as the model that could make this possible. Today, it allows me to return to what matters most: accessibility, time to listen, and relationship-based care without many of the barriers of today's healthcare system.

I still believe family medicine is one of the greatest privileges imaginable because every patient has a story, and every story deserves to be heard.

Your physician. Your partner in health. Rooted in Temecula, CA.

My husband and I chose Temecula intentionally. We were looking for a place close to our own parents, where we could raise our family with strong schools, a true sense of community, and room to put down roots. We've found all of that here and more.

It matters to me that the people I care for are my neighbors, not just my patients. I'm invested in this community the way any parent, spouse, and longtime resident is. I want families across Temecula, Murrieta, and the surrounding valley to have access to the kind of care I'd want for my own.

At the heart of my work is a commitment to building lasting relationships. I want to be a physician who knows you well, who shows up for you, and who walks alongside you through the different seasons of your health.

Beyond the Practice

Outside of medicine, I love being outdoors, spending time in nature, and staying active on my Peloton. I'm passionate about healthy eating and routine exercise, and I've seen firsthand how much they influence how we feel day-to-day.
